Do you think having children is a fundamental human right? Should there should be any restrictions?

Well, in the United States you need to pass tests to do just about anything...like drive a car. Teachers go through years of training to effectively teach children. Anyone fertile human can produce a child. Which is scary sometimes. It is part of the human experience. If put restrictions on who could have children and why, we would probably avoid lots of the social problems we are having right now. That being said, I think this gives governments too much power over people. It enables governments to manipulate the population of the country and choose what people within the population have power. Its a bit 1984 if you think about it.
I think it would be ok to limit the number of children people have, with tax punishments if you exceed the limit. This helps reduce the population size. Our planet is already overwhelmed by humans. We need to take steps to reduce our impact.

One of the main theories in that Freakonomics book I was telling you about is that the drop in crime during the 90s was caused by Roe v Wade and the fact that all the women who would likely have produced children more inclined to crime (young, poor, etc) instead aborted those children.

Which, btw, that guy's name is Seth Roberts. http://www.sethroberts.net/
